Jasper County tallied a 6-3 win over Effingham in junior high softball competition Tuesday.

Jasper County edged out to a 1-0 lead in the second inning and led 4-1 after four and tallied two more in the sixth.

Gabby Flowers led the team in hitting with two singles and an RBI. Amy Shull had a single and drove in two runs while Claire Probst and Maleah Miller had a single and an RBI each.

Effingham was led by Tessa Raddatz with two doubles, Maci Kirk with a single, double and an RBI and Maci Hayes with a single and an RBI.

Lexie Ghast was the winning pitching going all seven innings, allowing three runs on nine hits, three walks and striking out five.

At Effingham

Dieterich came calling at Effingham St. Anthony and tallied an 8-6 victory Tuesday.

St. Anthony held a 2-1 lead after two innings but the two teams were tied at 3-3 in the third. Dieterich then moved ahead with two runs in the fourth and fifth innings and one in the seventh.

K. Michl went on a hitting binge for Dieterich with three doubles, a home run and two RBI. A. Boerngen and C. Goebel had three singles each and Goebel added an RBI. E. Meinhart had three RBI.

St. Anthony was led by Gianna Frisbie with two singles and two RBI.

At Altamont

Altamont ended its game over Mulberry Grove in the fifth inning by a 16-6 count Tuesday.

Altamont had eight hits led by Reagan Kuenstler with two singles,  Kennedi Schultz with two singles and an RBI, Ada Roberts with a single and two RBI, Cecilia Pearcy with three RBI, Justyce Higgs with a single and an RBI and Laila Hankins with an RBI.

Pearcy was the winning pitcher on a six-hitter with five walks and three strikeouts.

At Altamont

South Central tallied an 11-1 victory over Centralia in five innings Tuesday.

South Central scored three runs in the first and second innings and five in the third.

Maddie Peddicord threw a two-hitter with two walks and 15 strikeouts.

The winners had six hits led by Jamalyn Logan with two singles and two RBI, Emmie Ruhol with a double and Kinley Swift with a single and two RBI.

South Central ends the regular season with a 16-5 record and will be competing in the St. Anthony Regional Saturday against the winner of the North Clay, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City contest.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City pounded Patoka, 21-6 Tuesday.

CHBC trailed 4-2 after the first inning but broke loose with a 15-run second inning and a four-run third to end the contest.

CHBC had only five hits but drew 19 walks in the contest. Brynlie Pope led the way hitting with two singles, a double and three RBI.

CHBC is now 4-13 on the season.
