Effingham tallied a 12-1 victory over Effingham St. Anthony in junior high softball action Friday.

The Mustangs tallied six runs in the second and six in the third. Aubrey Poe had two singles and an RBI for the winners while Amelia Koester, Maci Kirk, Gieah Schlanser and Camdryn Burgholzer a single and two RBI each.

St. Anthony was led by Sadie Vineyard with a double.

Layla McBride pitched four innings for the win allowing one run on three hits, one walk while striking out seven.

At Kinmundy

South Central blanked Vandalia by a 12-0 count Friday.

South Central tallied four runs in the first, second and fourth innings. Maddie Peddicord threw a one-hitter with one walk while striking out 13.

Jamalyn Logan had a single, double and an RBI while Emmie Ruholl had a double and four RBI and Baylee Brown two singles and an RBI.

South Central imporved to 15-5.

At Kinmundy

At Altamont

Altamont edged Neoga, 4-3 in seven innings Friday.

Altamont took a 1-0 first inning lead then tacked on two in the fourth. Both teams scored in the fifth and Neoga pulled within 4-3 in the sixth only to fall short.

Ada Roberts led the winners with two singles and a double. Sophie Long was the winning pitcher, going all seven innings, allowing three runs on four hits, two walks while striking out 10.

At Altamont

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg tallied a 14-1 win over North Clay/Clay City in Frday action.

North Clay/Clay City dropped to 4-11 on the season.

 

At Shelbyville

Shelbyville downed Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 13-2 in Friday action.

CHBC had three hits in the contest led by Brynlie Pope with a double and an RBI.

Shelbyville had eight hits and was aided by four CHBC errors.
