The Mustangs broke a 1-1 opening inning tie with a five-run second. However, Taylorville came back within 6-5 in the third. Effingham got back on track with a two-run fourth, a four-run fifth and finished out with a two-run seventh.
Effingham banged out 13 hits that included eight that were for extra bases. Tessa Raddatz led the way with a double, triple and seven RBI. Gieah Schlanser added a single, double and two RBI, Layla McBride and Camdyn Burgholzer with a single and double each, Keagyn Koenig added a triple and an RBI, Amelia Koester a triple and Maci Kirk two singles and an RBI.

South Central blanked Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City by a 17-0 count in three innings Thursday.
Maddie Peddicord threw a no-hitter with two walks and nine strikeouts.
South Central stepped out to a 5-0 first inning lead then added on four in the second and eight in the third.
Addy Ruholl had two singles and a double while Brianna Buchanan had a single, double and two RBI and Emmie Ruholl had two doubles and five RBI.

Jasper County improved to 14-4 on the season by edging Hutsonville/Palestine, 6-5 in nine innings Thursday.
Jasper Country trailed H/P 5-2 until the bottom of the seventh then scored three runs to force extra innings. The winning run came in the bottom of the ninth.
Jacee Dhom had two singles, a home run and three RBI while Claire Probst had a trple and an RBI.
Jasper County will play its last home game today against Paris Mayo.
