VANDALIA -- Effingham ran off to a 10-0 opening inning lead and ended the game in the third, 15-0 over Vandalia in junior high softball action Tuesday.

 

The Mustangs had eight hits led by Gieah Schlanser with a home run and four RBI, Tessa Raddatz with a double, Amelia Koester with a single and four RBI and Keagyn Koenig and Aubrey Poe with a single and two RBI each.

Poe was the winning pitcher, going three innings, allowing two hits, one walk and striking out four.

At Effingham

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg came calling and picked up a 13-3 win in five innings over Effingham St. Anthony Tuesday.

The Bullpups held a 1-0 first inning lead but WSS tied in the second then tallied eight runs in the third and four in the fifth.

WSS had six hits led by C. Johnson with a single, triple and two RBI and M. Friese and M. Clark with a single and two RBI each.

St. Anthony was led by Emeline Wines with a double and an RBI and Julia Schultz with a single and an RBI.

The Bullpups commited 10 errors.

At Altamont

Teutopolis secured a 15-4 victory over Altamont thanks to an eight-run third inning.

The Wooden Shoes got things moving in the first inning when a player was hit by a pitch and that produced a run.

T-town added on three in the second, then had the eight-run third, a run in the fourth and two in the fifth.

The Shoes had six hits led by Chloe Hoene with a double and three RBI. 

Altamont scored a run in the fourth and three in the fifth. E. Nelson had two singles and two RBI while L. Hankins had two singles and an RBI. H. Arend added two singles.

South Central tallied a 10-0 victory over Flora in six innings Tuesday.

Maddie Peddicord threw a no-hitter over six innings, with no walks while striking out 13.

Jamalyn Logan had two singles and drove in three runs while Addy Ruholl had a triple. Baylee Brown had a single and two RBI and Kennah Hiestand had two RBI.

South Central is now 12-5 on the season and is back in action today against Odin.

Ramsey edged out to a 2-0 first inning lead and went on for an 18-2 win over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City in four innings Tuesday.

Ramsey had nine hits and was aided by eight CHBC errors.

Brynlie Pope had a double while Brylie Prater had an RBI.
