Casey-Westfield played host to  Effingham and handed the Mustangs a 9-6 loss in junior high softball action Thursday.

 

The homestanders broke a 2-2 second inning tie with a run in the third. Effingham moved ahead 6-5 in the top of the sixth but Casey-Westfield tallied four in the bottom of the frame.

Effingham had five hits led by Maci Hayes with a double and an RBI and Amelia Koester with a single and two RBI.

At Altamont

Altamont trailed Ramsey 3-0 until the third, then tied the score and went on for a 14-7 victory Thursday.

Altamont had 12 hits and was aided by 10 Ramsey errors.

Laila Hankins had a single, triple and three RBI while Kennedi Schultz had two singles, a double and an RBI and Ada Roberts three singles.

Sophie Long threw a seven-hitter with five walks and nine strikeouts for the win on the mound.

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis blanked Vandalia, 10-0 Thursday.

Kylie Borries threw a complete game shutout. She went five innings, allowing one hit and no runs while striking out six.

Adrienne Koester went two for three at the plate to lead the Wooden Shoes. Olivia Rolie, Borries and Brooke Thoele had a triple each and Addison Hoene had a single.

T-town secured the victory thanks to six runs in the third inning. 

 

At Patoka

South Central took a 10-1 opening inning lead and ended the game in the fourth, 17-2 Thursday.

South Central had eight hits led by Maddie Peddicord with a single, double and two RBI, Jamalyn Logan and Baylee Brown with a double and three RBI each.

South Central is now 10-4 on the season.

North Clay/Clay City downed St. Elmo/Brownstown 11-9 in action Thursday.

North Clay/Clay City is now 3-8 on the season.

 

At Pana

Pana handed Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City a 21-8 loss in Thursday action.

Pana led 9-4 after two innings then had a sevne-run third and a five-run fourth.

CHBC had two hits in the contest, singles by Keaira Arnold and Jayla Arnett.

The Bobcats drop to 3-10.
