Then in the bottom of the frame, the Bulldogs broke loose with seven runs for an 8-2 victory and improved to 15-2 on the season.
St. Anthony had six hits led by Abbie Hatton with two singles, a double and two RBI. Haley Niebrugge had a single and two RBI. Sydney Kibler added an RBI.
S. Kibler picked up the win in the mound going all seven innings, allowing two runs on two hits, one walk while striking out 12.
Altamont had two hits, both singles by Sophia Pearcy. Peyton Osteen and Bailey Teasley had an RBI each. The Indians dropped to 7-15.
Grace Lemke was the tough-luck loser on the mound going six innings, allowing eight runs on six hits, two walks while striking out 11.
The Bulldogs are back in action today, weather permitting, with a 7 p.m. contest in the Cross Creek Classic at Evergreen Hollow Park against Teutopolis. The game can be heard on 979 XFM.

At Oblong
South Central blanked Oblong by a 3-0 count Thursday to improve to 14-7 on the season.
Taegan Webster was the hitting and pitching star for the Cougars. She went to bat and had a single, double, home run and two RBI.
She also was the winner on the mound going seven innings, allowing one hit, one walk while striking out 10.
Kaitlyn Swift added a single and an RBI.
The Cougars held a 1-0 first inning lead then added on two more in the fifth.

At Highland
Highland took a 1-0 first inning lead but Teutopolis tied in the top of the fourth. However, Highland came back with a five-run bottom of the frame, tacked on a single run in the fifth and two in the sixth for an 11-1 victory Thursday.
The Wooden Shoes had three hits led by Emily Konkel with a single, home run and one RBI and Estella Mette with a single.
Highland had 12 hits in the game and improved to 5-5 on the season.
T-town dropped to 14-4 on the season. The Wooden Shoes will be back in action, weather permitting, today with the Cross Creek Classic at 7 p.m. at Evergreen Hollow Park against Effingham St. Anthony in a game that will be heard on 979 XFM.

North Clay/Clay City fell to Woodlawn, 13-0 in five innings Thursday in Midland Trail Conference play.
Kirstin Allen had the only hit for North Clay/Clay City, with a single.
North Clay/Clay City dropped to 2-6 on the season and 1-3 in MTC play. The team travels to Waltonville Monday for the first round of the MIdland Trail Conference Tournament.
