Flames Split Weekend Games

The Effingham Flame, 10-year-old and under softball team, split victories during weekend action.

In a Friday game, the Flame fell to Newton 11-0 in four innings. Newton led 3-0 after two innings then had a 10-run third.

Effingham had only two hits in the contest led by Davis and Crippen with a single each.

In the Saturday contest, Effingham captured a 17-12 win scoring nine runs in the first and eight in the second.

Effingham had six hits led by Crippen with a single, triple and four RBI and Davis with a double and two RBI. Kronewitter had a single and drove in two runs.
