NEWTON -- Jasper County pounded home 17 runs and downed Teutopolis 17-2 in junior high softball action Tuesday.

Jasper County stepped out to a 3-0 opening inning lead and never looked back. The winners had eight hits and were aided by six Wooden Shoes errors.

T-town had two hits, singles by Alyssa Tipton and Jersey Gaddis.

Jasper County improved to 10-2 on the season and will host Flora Thursday.

At Newton

At Sandoval

South Central had a 10-run inning in the third and downed Sandoval 17-1 in four innings Tuesday.

The winners had 16 hits. Emily Rose had a double, home run and five RBI while Kinlee Thompson had a double, triple and three RBI, Maddie Peddicord had a single, double and two RBI, Amelia Montes a single, triple and three RBI and Zoey Feldhake a single and double. Brianna Buchanan added a triple and two RBI, Karli Holmes two singles and Jamalyn Logan a double and an RBI.

Rose threw a one-hitter for the win. South Central improved to 9-2 and returns to action Thursday against Patoka.

At Strasburg

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg tallied a 14-4 win over Dieterich in junior high softball action Tuesday.

WSS edged out to a 2-1 opening inning lead then had a five-run second and a seven-run third for a 14-2 win in five innings.

The winners had four hits led by Kendra Hayes with a triple and three RBI, Lexi Gee with a single and two RBI and Aubree Antrim with a single and an RBI. Cameron Carry had an RBI.

Dieterich was led by K. Michl with a double and an RBI and K. Will with a single and an RBI.

Clarissa Johnson was the winner on the mound, going three innings allowing two runs on two hits, two walks and striking out four. Mya Friese came on to go two innings allowing one hit and striking out six.

At Strasburg

At St. Elmo

Altamont came callng and pounded Brownstown/St. Elmo, 20-5 in Tuesday action.

Altamont took a 4-0 first inning lead, tallied five in the second and third innings and ended the game in the fourth with six runs.

Ella Nelson threw a one-hitter with five walks and nine strikeouts.

Five hits were of the extra base variety for Altamont. Kennedi Schultz had a single, two triples and five RBI, Justyce HIggs with a single and trple, Ella Nelson with a triple and an RBI and Laila Hankins with a double and two RBI. Ada Roberts had four singles and an RBI and Cecilia Pearcy two singles and an RBI.

BSE was led by Booher with a single and an RBI.

At St. Elmo
