The Mustangs stepped out to a 3-0 first inning lead then tacked on three more in the second, two in the third and one in the seventh.
Effingham had four hits and allowed only one hit by the Shoes. Natalie Armstrong was the winning pitcher going all seven innings, allowing one hit, no walks and striking out 11.
The Mustangs were led in hitting by Ina Mapes with a triple and an RBI, Alyssa Martin with a double and an RBI and Maci Hayes with a single and two RBI.

Charleston came calling and claimed a 16-1 win over Effingham St. Anthony in girls junior high softball action Friday at Mike Sehy Field.
Charleston took a 2-0 first inning lead and ended the game in the fifth. A. Goble went 3.1 innings allowing no runs on no hits, two walks while striking out three for the win. R. Cox came in and also kept the Bullpups hitless but allowing one run on two walks while striking out two.

Dieterich came calling and blanked Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, 17-0 in three innings Friday.
Dieterich tallied five in the first and six runs each in the second and third innings. C. Faller was the winning pitcher, going two innings, allowing no runs on no hits, one walk while striking out four. A. Niemerg went .2 innings allowing one walk while striking out two.
Dieterich had 10 hits and CHBC committed seven errors. Dieterich was led by C. Faller with three singles, a double and two RBI, K. Michl with a single, triple and three RBI and A. Boerngen with two singles and three RBI.

Casey-Westfield edged Jasper County 5-4 in nine innings Friday.
Casey-Westfield led 2-0 until the fifth when Jasper County tallied three runs then tacked on a single run in the top of the sixth. Casey-Westfield then tied the game in the bottom of the sixth and the two teams went nine innings before C-W won.
Jasper County had six hits, all singles by I. Meinhart with two RBI, M. Schafer, K. Holder, A. Reich, C. Probst and I. Probst.

South Central ran off to a 3-0 first inning lead and went on to end this contest in the fourth, 15-0 Friday.
Kinlee Thompson threw a no-hitter with two walks and 12 strikeouts.
South Central banged out 17 hits led by Percilla Reid with two singles, a triple and two RBI and Emily Rose with two singles, a double and three RBI.
South Central improves to 4-0 on the season and 1-0 in the National Trail Conference.
