Junior High Softball Results -- Aug. 9

BETHANY -- Teutopolis Junior High School picked up its first victory of the young softball season by trouncing Okaw Valley, 19-0 in three innings Monday.

The Wooden Shoes stepped out to an 8-0 first inning lead then had a four-run second and ended the contest with a seven-run third.

T-town had 12 hits led by M. Helmink with a home run and two RBI, O. Kemme with a single, double and two RBI and M. Bloemer and C. Apke with a double each. C. Mette had a single and three RBI and J. Gaddis a single and two RBI.

Gaddis and K. Borries combined to throw a no-hitter. Gaddis went two innings allowing two walks and striking out five while Borries threw the final inning striking out all three batters.

The Shoes are now 1-2 on the season.
