The 2021 junior high softball season got underway Wednesday as Casey-Westfield claimed a 14-4 win over Altamont in five innings.

Casey-Westfield took a 5-0 first inning lead then had a seven-run second and scored single runs in the third and fifth. Altamont came to life with a run in the third, then one in the fourth and two in the fifth.

Altamont had one hit, a double by L. Hankins who drove in a run. A. Fleeharty, C. Pearcy and K. Lurkins had an RBI each.
