Flexter Guides OCC to Doubleheader Rout of Shawnee

OLNEY -- Hailey Flexter had her hitting shoes on Tuesday evening as she went seven-for-seven and guided Olney Central College to a doubleheader sweep of Shawnee College.
Flexter, an Altamont High School graduate, had four hits in the opening 19-4 victory and scored four times. Kelsey Bowman (McLeansboro) had a three-run homer, her fifth of the season.
Flexter went four-for-four at the plate with two RBI.
In the second game, Flexter knocked in three runs, going three-for-three as OCC was a 10-1 winner. Shana Marti picked up the pitching win on a four-hitter with a walk and seven strikeouts.
In Monday play, OCC fell to the 10th-ranked team in NJCAA Division II, Parkland College in Champaign, 3-2 and 3-0.
Samantha Ledbetter hit her ninth home run of the season in the first inning of the first game. And, she drew three walks after that. Flexter had one hit.
In the second contest, Parkland claimed a 3-0 win. Again, Flexter had a hit in the contest. But the Knights left 17 runners stranded in the two games. Olivia Harrelson picked up the tough-luck loss, throwing a two-hitter with two walks and four strikeouts.
