Windsor/Stew-Stras Nabs Regional Crown

STRASBURG -- Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg claimed the championship of the Class 1A, Regional D Friday by defeating Odin/Patoka, 5-2.

Odin/Patoka edged out to a 1-0 first inning lead but the Hatchets moved ahead with two in the third. Odin/Patoka tied in the top of the fourth. WSS came back with three in the sixth for the win.

The Hatchets had six hits in the contest led by Hannah Hayes with a single, double and an RBI, Sam Porter with a single and two RBI, Makenna Tabor with a single and an RBI and Karlie Bean with an RBI.

Bean threw a five-hitter with three walks and eight strikeouts.

Windsor/Stew-Stras now advances to the Sectional to face Casey-Westfield at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. In the opening contest, St. Anthony plays host to Hutsonville/Palestine at 4:30 p.m.

The winners advance to the championship game Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
