St. Anthony Hands Charleston 3-2 Loss

Effingham St. Anthony started the game with a 1-0 lead in the second inning but Charleston came back with a run in the third to knot the score then took a 2-1 lead in the top of the fourth.

But the Bulldogs battled back to tie the score in the bottom of the fourth then produced the winning run in the fifth, 3-2.

Makayla Walsh pitched a three-hitter with three walks and four strikeouts. Walsh also had a big bat in the game, belting out a solo home run. Paige Koester led the way with three singles while Meghan Woltman and D.J. Brummer had two singles each.

At Neoga

Dieterich handed Neoga an 8-4 loss. The Movin' Maroons took a 1-0 first inning lead then had a two-run second. Neoga pulled within 3-2 in the fourth but Dieterich had a four-run sixth and tallied a final run in the seventh.

The Maroons banged out 10 hits in the contest led by Meinhart with three hits and two RBI. Potter had a double for Neoga.

Neoga picked up a 12-4 victory over Ramsey. Ramsey held a 2-0 lead until the third when Neoga produced eight runs.

Neece was the wininng pitcher, going all seven innings, giving up six hits and striking out three.

Jean and Roderick led the winners with two hits and two RBI each. The Indians improve to 2-2 on the season.
