T-town, S. Central Nab Two Softball Wins

Teutopolis and South Central claimed two victories Saturday in high school softball competition.
The Wooden Shoes and Cougars played each other in a doubleheader and split wins Saturday.
T-town was a 9-8 winner. The Wooden Shoes took a 3-0 opening inning lead then tacked on single runs in the second, third and fiftth and three more in the sixth.
T-town had nine hits led by Lexie Niebrugge with a single, home run and two RBI, Emily Konkel with two singles and two RBI.
South Central was led by Lily Malone with a home run and four RBI while Jordan Geiler had two singles.
In the second contest, the Cougars picked up an 11-1 win. South Central led 3-1 after the first inning then scored two in the second and five in the fourth.
South Central had a 12-hit attack with seven of those hits for extra bases. Kayli Swift had two singles, a home run and an RBI while Halle Smith had two doubles, Laney Webster a double, home run and three RBI, Jaylyn Michel a single, double and four RBI and Lily Malone a double and two RBI.
T-town was led by Daischa Piedra with a double and an RBI and Konkel, with a triple.

Teutopolis stepped out early and went on to claim a 10-5 victory over Robinson Friday.
The Wooden Shoes led 3-0 after the first and 6-0 after the second.
T-town had a 12-hit contest led by Daischa Piedra with three singles and four RBI, Kaylee Niebrugge with a single, double and four RBI and Danielle Sarchet with a single and triple.
Tia Probst was the winning pitcher, going four innings, allowing five hits, four runs, six walks and three strikeouts.

South Central edged past Vandalia in a high-scoring contest Friday, 16-14.
The score was tied at 8-8 after five innings and 13-13 after seven sending the game into an extra inning. The Cougars then took the win with a three-run eighth.
Halle Smith led the Cougars with two singles, a double, a home run and two RBI, Sydnee Garrett had two home runs and five RBI while Jaylyn Michel had two singles, two doubles and two RBI. Kayli Swift added a home run and four RBI.

The Indians outhit Greenville 11-7 but committed six errors in the contest.
Bailey Teasley led the hitting attack with three singles, a double and an RBI while Macey Christy had two doubles and an RBI, Taylor Mette two singles and Olivia Eckhardt with a double.
