Behind an 11-hit attack, Effingham High School trounced Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick 14-4 in six innings.
The Hearts edged out to a 2-1 opening inning lead then tallied two runs in the second, three in the third, one in the fourth, three in the fifth and sixth.
Deedra Myers pitched the victory, going four innings, allowing two hits, two runs, no walks and striking out four. Myers also aided her own cause with a single, double and three RBI. Kaylee Tonn had two singles, two doubles and three RBI while Brittany Beals had two doubles and two RBI and Brandy Pontious a single, double and an RBI. The Hearts improve to 2-0.

Effingham St. Anthony traveled to Decatur and was handed a 14-4 loss in five innings.
Decatur St. Teresa stepped out to a 4-0 first inning lead and scored in the next four innings to end the contest after the fifth behind 13 hits.
St. Anthony scored two runs in the second and two in the fifth. Makayla Walsh and Hunter Niebrugge had a double and an RBI each.

Stewardson-Strasburg fell to Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond 3-0. The two teams were scoreless through four innings before Arthur-Lovington went ahead 1-0 in the fifth and then tacked on two in the seventh.

Teutopolis handed Newton a 7-4 loss. Cowman picked up the pitching win going six innings, allowing three hits, four runs, three walks and striking out seven.
Stephens had a single, triple and an RBI for the Wooden Shoes. Apke had a single, double and two RBI and Cowman two singles and two RBI. T-town improves to 4-0.
Swingler and R. Baker had a double each for Newton.
