Tolono Unity claimed a 14-8 win over Effingham St. Anthony in junior high girls softball competition Thursday.

Tolono Unity led 7-6 after four innings then had a six-run sixth.

St. Anthony outhit the winners, 12-11. A. Walton had a single, home run and an RBI while K. Kabbes had a single, double and an RBI and C. Wines a triple. L. Hoene had three singles while M. Scheidemantel added two singles. A. Rios had a single and drove in two runs.

Dieterich took the early lead and went on to blank Neoga, 15-0 in five innings via the 10-run rule Thursday.

B. Niemerg was the winning pitcher throwing a no-hitter with 11 strikeouts.

S. Goebel had four hits and L. Jansen three for the winners.
