Effingham St. Anthony's A. Nuxoll had quite the game Monday as the Bullpups downed Teutopolis 13-3 in junior high softball competition.

Nuxoll came on to relieve Wines in the first inning on the mound and went five innings throwing a no-hitter with one walk and six strikeouts. Wines also did not allow a hit but gave up three walks and three runs.

Nuxoll had two singles and drove in two runs. Wines had a double and also drove in two runs.

St. Anthony edged out to a 5-3 opening inning lead then had two runs in the second and ended the game with six runs in the fifth.

At Kinmundy

South Central played host to Altamont and sent the Widlcats home with a 6-0 loss Monday behind the one-hit pitching performance of Watwood.

Watwood kept the Wildcats off balance allowing only a single by Siebert in the fourth inning. Watwood allowed three walks and struck out 10 batters.

Meanwhile, South Central opened with a 2-0 first inning lead then added on two in the third, one in the fourth and one in the fifth.

Shuler had two doubles and an RBI while Montes had a triple.
