Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City jumped out to a 5-0 first inning lead and claimed a 19-10 win over Altamont in junior high softball competition Friday.

Addison Wasson was the winning pitcher. CHBC had seven hits led by Macee Rodman with a home run and three RBI. Wasson, Ellie Miller and Haley Doty had two singles each. Wasson and Miller had an RBI each while Doty had three RBI.

Altamont had six hits led by Siebert with two singles and two RBI and Lemke with a triple and two RBI.

CHBC improved to 1-1 in the National Trail Conference and overall.
