Junior High Aug. 17-18 Softball Results

Effingham Junior High School blanked Mattoon, 2-0 in softball competition Tuesday.

The two runs came in the fourth inning. The Mustangs had three hits, all singles by Jerzi Bierman, Saige Althoff and Kristen Armstrong. Althoff picked up the pitching win on a two-hitter.

At WSS

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg Junior HIgh School stepped out to a 6-0 opening inning lead and that was the game as the winners blanked Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, 15-0 in four softball innings Tuesday.

WSS banged out 12 hits in the contest led by A. Friese with a single, three doubles and two RBI, S. Hayes two triples and an RBi, K. Quast a double, triple and an RBI and E. Wittenburg a double.

CHBC had two hits, singles by Birgen Schlanser and Macee Rodman.

At Kinmundy

South Central edged Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg 12-10 in Monday competition.

South Central trailed 3-2 after four innings but came back with five runs in the fifth and sixth innings for the victory.

South Central had eight hits led by Reid with a double while Montes had three singles and Watwood two singles and three RBI.

WSS outhit South Central with 10. Quast had three singles and an RBI while Friese, Garrett and Wittenburg had two singles each. Friese added an RBI. Gee had a triple and an RBI.
