Jasper Co. Takes Fourth at 2AA State SB Tourney

NORMAL -- Jasper County played two games at the Class 2A State Girls Softball Tournament Saturday and finished in fourth place.
Jasper County fell to Manteno, 7-0. Manteno took a 1-0 first inning lead and never looked back, scoring in four innings.
Jasper County had two hits, singles by Lexie Grove and Avery Mulvey.
In the third place game, Stanford Olympia handed Jasper County a 6-2 loss.
The two teams were tied at 2-2 after the first inning. Olympia took a 3-2 lead in the second then had a three-run fifth.
Jasper County was led in hitting by Addy O'Dell with three singles. Camryn Martin and Bailee Frichtl had a single and an RBI each.
Jasper County finished the season with a 26-2 record.
Beecher won the state tournament championship by downing Brimfield, 8-2.
