Jasper Co. Onto Semifinals at State Junior; WSS' Run Comes to an End

Jasper County has reached the semifinals of the 2A junior high state softball tournament. Jasper County won 8-7 over Tremont Friday in quarterfinal action at Champion Fields in Normal.
Jasper County held a 5-1 lead after fuor innings and led 8-3 after six. Tremont tallied four runs in the top of the seventh but couldn't get over the big lead by Jasper County.
The winners were led by Addy O'Dell with a single, doubel and two RBI and Avery Mulvey with three singles and an RBI.
Jasper County, now 26-1, will play Manteno at 10:30am. If they win, they will play for the championship at 4:30pm; if they lose, they will play for third place at 2:30pm.
Meanwhile, Windsor/Stew-Stras/Trinity saw their season end with a 10-4 Friday in the 1A tournament at the hands of Brimfield. WSS sees their season end at 22-4.
Brimfield jumped on the scoreboard early with three runs. WSS came back with two in the second but Brimfield scored another run in the bottom of the frame, two in the third, fourth and sixth innings. WSS had two in the fifth.
Both teams had 11 hits. Stacie Vonderheide led WSS with a double and two RBI while Gabby Vonderheide had three singles and Addie Wernsing two singles.
