COWDEN -- Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg Junior High School downed Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City in four innings, 17-0 Wednesday in softball competition
WSS picked up the win behind the no-hit pitching of Samantha Hayes who went three innings allowing no walks and striking out seven.
WSS took a 3-0 opening inning lead then had a six-run second and an eight-run third. The winners had 13 hits led by Kinley Quast with a single, double and an RBI, Marisa Daniels and Addie Wernsing with two singles and three RBI each, Gabby Vonderheide with two singles and two RBI and Stacie Vonderheide with a triple and an RBI.
