Lake Land's Softball Squad Drops Opener

Lake Land College fell to Chipola in opening round play of the NJCAA Division I Softball Championship at Canyons Complex in St. George, Utah Wednesday.

Chipola took a 2-1 lead in the second inning then had four-run innings in the fourth and fifth and ended the game with a 10-2 win.

Lake Land had only three hits, all singles by Delanie Johnson, Amaya Eubanks and Kali Husman. Husman had an RBI.

A local member of the team is Taylor Rentfro, a freshman from Stewardson-Strasburg.

Lake Land drops into the consolation bracket where it will face Chattanooga in the next round.
