T-town Beats Altamont, Area Softball Roundup

ALTAMONT -- Teutopolis High School handed Altamont a 9-3 loss in regular season softball action Monday.
The Wooden Shoes took a 3-0 opening inning lead and had a three-run fourth and a two-run third.
Coach Rich Niebrugge's crew had 10 hits led by Allie Niebrugge and Allie Brumleve with a single, double and an RBI each, M. Funneman with a triple and two RBI and Savanna Gebbe with a double. The Shoes are now 11-10 on the season.
Altamont was led by Katie Grimsley with two singles and an RBI. The Indians drop to 10-16.

Dieterich came calling and tallied a 4-3 victory over Brownstown/St. Elmo Monday.
The Movin' Maroons took a 3- lead in the second inning and held on for the victory.
Jenny Robards led the way with a home run and three RBI while Jadyn Pruemer added a double and Allie Poe had two singles.
Brownstown/St. Elmo was led by Cassidy Moss with three singles and an RBI, Natalie Oberlink with a single and double and Katelyn Maxey two singles.

Action begin in Class 1A Monday evening as Ramsey ended Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City's season with a 9-1 victory at the St. Anthony Regional Monday.
Ramsey ran off to a 3-0 opening inning lead and that was the game.
Madison Compton threw a no-hitter for the Rams. Ramsey had nine hits led by Grace Saunders and Abigail Boedebecker with two singles each and Gretta Simon and Addison Eddy with double and two RBI each.
Ramsey advances to meet Effingham St. Anthony today at 4:30 p.m.

Clay-City/North Clay picked up an opening round victory in the South Central Regional by downing Odin, 16-10 Monday.
Keisha Allen had three singles and four RBI for the winners while Malorie Craig had three singles and an RBI. Bre Farris added two singles and two RBI.
Clay City/North Clay is now 4-12 on the season and will be back in action in the regional today at 4:30 p.m. against top-seeded South Central.

Martinsville now advances to face top-seeded Casey-Westfield at 4:30 p.m. today.
Class 1A Pawnee Regional
Edinburg claimed a forfreit win over Raymond Lincolnwood in the Pawnee Regional Monday.
Edinburg now advances to take on top-seeded Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg at 4:30 p.m. today. The second game will have Pawnee against Morrisonville at 6:30.
Class 2A Teutopolis Regional
Opening round play in the T-town Regional was an exciting 2-1 victory for Shelbyville over Sullivan Monday.
Shelbyville now advances to face the No.1 seed, Tuscola at 4:30 p.m. today.
