STRASBURG -- Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg ran off to an 8-0 lead on Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City and never looked back, ending the high school softball game in the fourth by a 20-0 count Thursday.
The Hatchets had their hitting shoes on with 16 hits, half of those for extra bases. Calla Roney had a big night with a single, two doubles, a home run and four RBI. Hannah Hayes had a single and a grand slam home run. She finished with five RBI. Mackenzi Tabbert added two triples and two RBI while Carson Cole had a single, double and an RBI, Karlie Bean a triple and an RBI and Maddy Pfeiffer a double. Megan Schlechte chipped in with two singles and an RBI.
Roney threw a two-hitter with no walks and seven strikeouts.
CHBC's two hits were singles by Kylee Bertin and Lauren Wojcik. The Bobcats drop to 2-12 on the season.

Dieterich edged Ramsey 7-6 in softball action Thursday.
Both teams had 10 hits. The Movin' Maroons were led by Kaitlyn Boerngen with a single and double, Molly Niemerg with two singles, Kaitlyn Bloemer with two singles and an RBI, Brooke Locey with a triple, Emily Bloemer with a double and an RBI and Megan Bierman with a double and an RBI.

Newton took a 2-0 lead in the third inning but Charleston came back with singe runs in the fourth and sixth and two in the fifth to pull out a 4-3 victory Thursday.
The Eagles had seven hits led by Kelsi Geltz with two singles, a double and an RBI and Kenzi Smith with a single and two RBI.

The Wildcats held a 9-0 lead after three innings and ended the game in the fifth via the 10-run rule.
