DePaul Edges Illinois State, 6-5

CHICAGO -- The Illinois State softball team trailed by four runs heading into the sixth ining, before the Redbirds stormed back and scored a pair of runs in the sixth and the seventh to play their first extra-inning cotnset of the season at Depaul Tuesday.

The Blue Demons fought off the Redbird rally, securing the 6-5 walk-off win with a double to left field in the bottom of the ninth.

Teutopolis graduate Anni Borries, the designated player, had a double and two RBI for Illinois State while her sister, Kadi played in left field but did not bat.

DePaul outhit Illinois State by a 15-8 count.
