Effingham St. Anthony handed Brownstown/St. Elmo a 17-6, five-inning high school softball loss Monday.
The Bulldogs banged out 17 hits in the contest led by Katie Kabbes with three doubles and four RBI., Allie Day with a solo homer, Karlee Roepke with four singles, Grace Hakman with two singles, a double and three RBI, Sydney Gibson with three singles and Grace Karolewicz with a single and three RBI.
A. Day picked up the pitching win in relief. She went three innings, allowing three hits, no walks and striking out three.
Katelyn Maxey had a single, home run and two RBI for BSE while Hailey Wright had two doubles and an RBI, Avyree Scholes two singles an two RBI and Marlee Nolen two singles and an RBI.

At Teutopolis
Teutopolis' middle of the lineup produced five home runs as the Wooden Shoes bounced South Central 16-4 in National Trail Conference action Monday, 16-4.
The Shoes trailed South Central 4-3 going into the bottom of the third then broke loose with 10 runs and ended the game with three in the fifth.
Karsyn Mette started the home run barrage with a homer, a single and four RBI. Emma Deters had two home runs and four RBI, Leah Schumacher a home run and an RBI and Holly Heuerman a single, home run and an RBI. A. Bloemer had a single, double and an RBI while Allie Niebrugge had three singles and two RBI and Allie Brumleve two singles.
South Central was led by Katie Shumate with a home run and two RBI, Halle Smith with a double and two RBI and Lily Malone with a double. The Cougars dropped to 11-4.
Brumleve picked up the win on the mound going all five innings, allowing four hits, no walks and striking out three. T-town moved above .500 with a 6-5 mark. The Shoes also claimed the junior varsity game, 6-1.

Newton stepped out to a 2-0 first inning lead and went on to end the game in the fifth via the 10-run rule, 12-0 Monday.
The Eagles had 13 hits in the contest led by Amber Russell with a single, double, home run and two RBI, Payton Kinder with a single, two doubles and two RBI, Kenzi Smith with a single, double and two RBI, Josie Grunloh with a triple and Maddi Hemrich, Whitney Zumbahlen and Josie Meinhart with a double each. Smith had two RBI while Meinhart had one.
Hemrich was the winning pitcher going three innings, allowing two hits, no walks and striking out two.

Neoga claimed a 13-1 National Trail Conference win over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Monday.
The Indians edged out to a 2-0 first inning lead then had a three-run third, a two-run fourth and finished out with six runs in the fifth.
Molly Sheehan had two singles, a triple and four RBI for the winners while Liz Titus had two singles, a triple and three RBI, Kelsey Partlow a single and double and Trista Moore a single, triple and three RBI. Ella Schuler added two singles.
CHBC was led by Madison Cherry with a double.
Titus picked up the three-hit pitching win.

The Hatchets took a 2-0 first inning lead, then tacked on a run in the third and two in the sixth.
Megan Schlechte threw a one-hitter with no walks and six strikeouts.
WSS had six hits led by Karlie Bean with two singles and an RBI, Mackenzi Tabbert a double and an RBI and M. Schlechte a triple and an RBI.
Altamont's lone hit, a single, came from Caitlyn White. The Indians drop to 2-2 in the conference, 6-11 overall.
