Effingham St. Anthony claimed the Sullivan Round Robin Softball Tournament Saturday.

The Bulldogs downed host Sullivan, 15-0 in five innings. St. Anthony held a 1-0 lead until the third inning when the bottom dropped out for Sullivan. The Bulldogs tallied 11 runs.

Katie Kabbes led the way in hitting for St. Anthony with a single, triple, home run and four RBI. Allie Day finished with a single, two triples and two RBI while Liz Day had two singles, a double and an RBI. Grace Hakman added a double and triple while Sydney Gibson had two singles and two RBI and Jessica Coffin two singles.

At Mattoon

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg captured two wins over Mattoon in action Saturday.

In the opener, WSS tallied a 5-3 victory. WSS took a 1-0 first inning lead before Mattoon tied in the second. WSS then tallied three in the third and one in the fourth.

The Hatchets had 10 hits led by Ava Bennett with a triple, Megan Schlechte with three singles and Carson Cole with two singles. Calla Roney was the winning pitcher on a seven-hitter with two walks and eight strikeouts.

In the second contest, WSS stepped out to a 3-0 first inning lead and went on to blank Mattoon, 9-0.

The Hatchets had 10 hits led by Bennett with a single, double and three RBI, Mackinzee Reynolds with two singles and Roney and Mackenzi Tabbert with a double each. Roney added an RBI.

Schlechte sent all seven innings allowing three hits, no walks and striking out five.

Newton played host to Prairie Central and the visitors went home with a 4-2 victory Saturday.

Prairie Central had 12 hits in the contest while the Eagles had five.

Newton was led by Payton Kinder with a double and Whitney Zumbahlen with two singles.

Dieterich tallied a 12-0 win over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City in Friday action.

Jenny Robards threw a one-hitter for the win on the mound.

The Movin' Maroons had 10 hits in the contest led by Andrea Bierman with a double, home run and three RBI, Kaitlyn Bloemer with a solo homer, Kaitlyn Boerngen with two singles and an RBI, Brooke Locey with a single and triple, Allie Poe with a single, double and an RBI and Emily Bloemer with a double and an RBI.

The lone hit for CHBC was a single by Kylie Doty.

Teutopolis dropped a 3-2 decision to Mount Zion as the Braves tallied all three runs in the bottom of the seventh Saturday.

T-town held a 1-0 first inning lead and tacked on another run in the fourth.

Both teams had four hits. A. Brumleve led the Wooden Shoes with two singles and an RBI. Brumleve took the tough loss on the mound going 6.2 innings allowing four htis, three runs, three walks and striking out five.
