Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg Junior High School captured the championship of the Class A Raymond Lincolnwood Softball Sectional Saturday.

Windsor/Stew-Stras downed Springfield Calvary, 13-5 in nine innings.

WSS is now 18-6 on the season.and will be playing in the Class A State Tournament at Champion Fields in Normal Friday.

WSS will take on Ottawa Marquette (19-1) at 10 a.m.

 

At Casey

Casey-Westfield ended Effingham St. Anthony's hopes of a trip to state in the Class A Cumberland Sectional Saturday.

Casey-Westfield claimed a 4-2 victory. Casey-Westfield took a 1-0 first inning lead and led 2-0 after five. The lead went to 4-0 in the top of the seventh.

The Bullpups mounted a rally in the bottom of the seventh, scoring two runs. They had the tying run on second base but ended the game on a strikeout.

St. Anthony had four hits led by S. Kibler with a triple and an RBI.

Casey-Westfield (16-2) advances to the Class A State Tournament at Champion Fields in Normal Friday to face Pleasant Hill (23-0) at 4 p.m.
