Effingham edged out to a 1-0 first inning lead but Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg tied in the second. The Mustangs tallied four more in the third, two in the fifth and two in the sixth for a 9-2 junior high softball win Wednesday.
Abby Cunningham had three singles and two RBI to lead the way for Effingham. Six other players had a single each. Courtney Beck threw a four-hitter with no walks and nine strikeouts.
WSS had four singles by four different players.

South Central edged ahead 1-0 in the first inning then tallied single runs in the fourth and sixth and two in the fifth and seventh for a 7-1 win over Salem Franklin Park Wednesday.
Taegan Webster picked up the win on the mound, throwing a two-hitter with one walk and nine strikeouts.
Sierra Arnold had two singles and two RBI for the winners while Brooklyn Garrett had a single, double and four RBI. South Central improved to 2-0.
