NEWTON --  Effingham St. Anthony won the Jasper County Softball Round Robin Tournament Saturday.

The Bullpups easily handled Jasper County and Oblong, beating the homestanders 13-1 and Oblong 21-1.

L. Fearday threw a no-hitter against Jasper County, going five innings, allowing one earned run, two walks and striking out 10.

Fearday aided her own cause offensively with two singles, a home run and an RBI. C. Rios had a single, double and an RBI while S. Kibler had a double and two RBI. A. Faber had a single and finished with four RBI.

In the contest against Oblong, St. Anthony took a 5-1 opening inning lead then had a 10-run second and finished the game in the third with six.

S. Kibler threw a no-hitter this time with five walks and eight strikeouts.

The Bullpups had nine hits led by H. Niebrugge with two singles and three RBI, Fearday with a double and two RBI, A. Thoele with a double and an RBI and L. Coffin with a double and an RBI.
