Girls Minor Softball League Tournament -- July 12

Roepke Overhead Doors handed Spectrum Screen Graphics a 10-6 loss in opening round play of the Girls Minor Softball League Tournament at Evergreen Hollow Park Thursday.

Roepke trailed Spectrum 5-2 after the first inning but came back with six runs in the second and two in the third.

Roepke had 15 hits led by Gianna Frisbee with a double, triple and two RBI, Nora Cekander with a single, double and two  RBI, Abbigail Shaw with a double and two RBI, Ava Bushur with three singles and two RBI and Rylee Fearday and Madelyn Gilmore with two singles each.

Spectrum was led by Macy Hayes with two singles, a double and two RBI, Avery Romack with two doubles and an RBI, Adalyn Buhnerkemper with a single and double, Seatyn Althoff with a double and Maddie Westendorf with two singles and an RBI.

In the second contest, Dieterich Bank edged REMAX, 10-9.

REMAX held a 7-1 lead in the top of the third before Dieterich tallied six runs to tie the score in the bottom of the frame. REMAX scored two more in the top of the fourth before Dieterich Bank came back to pull out the win in the bottom of the inning with three runs.

Lilly Hardiek, Claire Kinkelaar and Reese Hoene had a single and double each. Hardiek had two RBI and Kinkelaar and Hoene one each. Aubrey Poe added a triple while Macy Lewis had two singles and an RBI.

Kaylee Stuckey led REMAX with a single, double and two RBI. Reagan Kreke, Kiela Allison, Grace Bergbower and Aden DeNoon had two singles each. DeNoon had three RBI while Allison had two.

Roepke Overhead  Doors advances to face Chesnut Family Music at 5:30 p.m. Monday on the East Diamond while Dieterich Bank takes on Bahrns Equipment, also at 5:30 p.m. on the West Diamond. The winners advance to the championship game the same night at 7:15 p.m.
