Girls Senior Softball League -- June 20

Adhatters split wins Wednesday evening in the Girls Senior Softball League at Evergreen Hollow Park.

Adhatters won the opener over Southern Illinois Hand Center, 8-7. Southern Illinois held a 2-0 lead in the second inning and led 3-1 in the third. Both teams scored three runs in the fourth and Southern Illinois held a 7-4 lead going into the sixth. That's when Adhatters came through with four runs to pull out the victory.

Adhatters was led in hitting by A. Bierman with a single, double and an RBI.

Leading Southern Illinois were A.Day with two doubles and an RBI and L. Day with a double and an RBI.

In the second contest, Effingham Surgery Center edged out to a 1-0 first inning lead and went on to blank Adhatters 7-0.

Hannah Hayes threw a one-hitter. Hardiek had a triple for the winners while Lohman added a double.

Adhatters lone hit was a single by Goering.
