Southern Illinois Hand Center edged Effingham Surgery Center 8-7 in Girls Senior Softball League action Wednesday.
Effingham Surgery Center ran off to a 7-0 lead after two innings. Southern Illinois came back with a run in the third, three in the fourth and four in the fifth.
Boatman had a single, triple and an RBI for the winners while A. Day had a double, triple and two RBI. L. Day added a double and an RBI.
Effingham Surgery Center was led by Hardiek with a double and two RBI.
In the second contest, Adhatters downed Effingham Surgery Center 13-10. Adhatters trailed 3-1 after the first inning but had a seven-run second then had to hold off Efifngham Surgery in the fifth.
Adhatters had 11 hits led by Ritz with an inside-the-park home run and two RBI and Bierman with a double and two RBI.
Leading Effingham Surgery was Hardiek, Rentfro and S. Faber with a double each. Hardiek added an RBI. Walls had two singles and drove in two runs.
