Lake Land Softball Season Comes to End

ST. GEORGE, Utah -- Wallace State (Alabama) defeated Lake Land College, 15-13 Thursday in the consolation bracket of the NJCAA National Softball Tournament. That loss eliminated the Lakers.

Lake Land scored three runs in the first inning but Wallace State took the lead in the top of the third with four runs, 4-3. The Lakers tied in the bottom of the inning at 4-4. Lake Land grabbed the lead back at 7-4 with three runs in the fourth. But an eight-run fifth put Wallace State on top for good.

Holly Marousek took the loss, allowing nine hits and eight earned runs in 2 1/3 innings on the mound. Alina Lance and Del Johnson went three-for-four each.

Lake Land ends the season at 48-18.
