Effingham Edges Highland in Softball Action

HIGHLAND -- Effingham High School edged Highland, 2-1 in softball action Thursday.

The Hearts trailed Highland 1-0 after the first inning. EHS came back with two runs in the fifth for the win.

EHS had five hits led by Aly Armstrong had two singles while Emma Huss and Emma Budde had a single and drove in a run each.

Jaidi Davis picked up the pitching win on a six-hitter with one walk and four strikeouts.

The Hearts are back in action today at Springfield Sacred Heart-Griffin.
