Windsor/Stew-Stras Heads to Regional Title Game

NOKOMIS -- Windsor/Stewarsdon-Strasburg High School trounced Ramsey 19-0 in the Class 1A Nokomis Softball Regional Wednesday.

The Hatchets took a 3-0 first inning lead then had an 11-run second and a five-run third. Megan Schlechte threw a perfect game allowing no hits and striking out five.

WSS banged out 17 hits in the contest were Schlechte with two doubles, a home run and three RBI and Mackenzi Tabbert with a double, home run and two RBI. Carson Cole added three doubles and an RBI while Mackenzie Reynolds had two singles, a double and three RBI.

Windsor/Stew-Stras is now 22-4 on the season and will face either Martinsville or Nokomis Saturday at 11 a.m. for the regional championship. Martinsville and Nokomis meet today.

Class 1A Moweaqua Central A&M Reigonal

Moweaqua Central A&M edged Bethany Okaw Valley 5-4 in Wednesday action at its own regional.

That win moves Moweaqua Central A&M into the champoinship game against Neoga at 11 a.m. Saturday.

 

Class 2A Breese Mater Dei Regional

Breese Central beat crosstown rival Breese Mater Dei, 2-0 in the Mater Dei Regional Wednesday.

Central advances to face Newton at 11 a.m. Saturday for the regional championship.
