S. Central, Neoga, SEB Capture Softball Wins

South Central High School edged out to a 2-0 first inning lead then never looked back in a 13-1 win over Dieterich in softball action Thursday.
The Cougars ended the game in the fifth inning via the 10-run rule. Sydnee Garrett threw a one-hitter with no walks and nine strikeouts.
Lexie Reid had two singles, a double and three RBI for the winners while Garrett had two singles, two doubles and three RBI. Kayli Swift added a single and triple while Katlyn Hilmes had two singles and two RBI. Angelica Rivera, Serina Lee and Zoe Johnston had a double each. Rivera added an RBI.
South Central improves to 11-5 on the season.

St. Elmo/Brownstown tallied a 6-3 win over Marshall Thursday.
SEB took a 2-0 first inning lead and led 5-2 after three.
Natalie Oberlink threw a six-hitter with two walks and 10 strikeouts. Oberlink aided her own cause with a single and double. Marlee Nolen and Cassidy Moss had two singles each. Moss had two RBI and Nolen one. Ayvree Scholes added a double and an RBI.

Neoga took a 2-0 first inning lead then held off Tri County, 14-6.
The Indians banged out 12 hits in the game led by Kelsey Partlow with four singles, Elizabeth Titus with a single, double and three RBI, Molly Sheehan with three singles and an RBI and Audrey Ramert with two singles and an RBI.
Titus picked up the pitching win, going all seven innings, allowing eight hits, five walks and struck out nine.

Okaw Valley took the early lead and fought off a fifth inning rally by Altamont to pick up a 9-4 victory.
Okaw Valley led 3-0 after two but Altamont came back with a four-run fifth to lead. Okaw Valley then tallied six in the sixth inning.
Tinley Mette had two singles, a double and two RBI for Altamont while Katie Grimsley added a single and double and Ashley Goeckner a double and an RBI.
The Indians drop to 8-19 on the season.

The Bluestreaks had a three-run first and a seven-run third. CHBC had four hits led by Felicia Owens with a double.

Charleston came from behind to down Newton, 7-1 in action Thursday.
The Eagles took a 1-0 lead in the second inning and held that until the fourth when Charleston scored six runs then tacked on a final run in the sixth.
