EHS Downs T-town, Area Softball Roundup

Effingham High School handed Teutopolis a 7-2 loss in softball competition Monday.
The Hearts took the early lead and never relented. EHS had 10 hits led by Carsyn Fearday with a single, double and two RBI, Lauryn Douthit with two singles and two RBI, Emma Huss with a double and an RBI and McKenzie Wittenberg with two singles.
Aly Armstrong threw a four-hitter with three walks and 10 strikeouts.
T-town was led by Sadie Bueker with a triple.
Effingham and T-town meet again tonight and the game will be broadcast on KJ Country 102.3.

Neoga held a 7-2 lead after four innings but Altamont rallied with three in the fifth, one in the sixth and won the game in the bottom of the seventh with two runs, 8-7 Monday.
Altamont had 12 hits led by Tinley Mette with two singles, two doubles and two RBI while Ashley Goeckner had a single and double and Katie Grimsley and Caitlyn White two singles each. White had two RBI and Grimsley one.
Neoga was led by Molly Sheehan with three singles and an RBI, Makenzie Saunders with a double and three RBI and Elizabeth Titus with a double and an RBI.
Altamont improves to 4-2 in the National Trail Conference, 7-17 overall.

Megan Schlechte went the five innings, allowing two hits, no walks and striking out six for the win.
She aided her own cause offensively with a single, double and three RBI. Calla Roney added three singles and two RBI.

The Pirates held a 4-3 opening inning lead then tallied three runs in the second, one in the third, four in the fourth and one in the fifth.
The Pirates had 13 hits led by Jazzmine Oakley with a single, triple, home run and four RBI. Liberty Dunaway added a single, triple and an RBI while Sadie Oakley had two singles and three RBI.
