Bulldogs Drop Softball Loss, WSS Claims Win

CHARLESTON -- Effingham St. Anthony High School was blanked by Charleston 8-0 in softball action Wednesday.
The Trojans took a 3-0 first inning lead then had a four-run third and finished out with a run in the sixth. Charleston had 11 hits in the contest led by Macey McElravy with a single, home run and two RBI, Reagan McGahey with two singles, a double and an RBI and Ramsey Armstrong with a single, double and two RBI.
Emily Price picked up the pitching win, going four innings, allowing two hits, two walks and striking out two. The Trojans improve to 6-0.
Jessica Coffin led the Bulldogs with a single and double.

At Windsor
Windsor/Stewardson-Strasbuirg handed Pana a 14-1 loss in five innings Wednesday.
The Hatchets edged out to a 1-0 first inning lead then had a three-run second, a six-run third and finished out with four in the fourth.
WSS banged out 15 hits in the contest led by Carson Cole with a triple and two RBI, Hannah Hayes with a triple and an RBI, Taylor Rentfro with a single, double and two RBI and Ava Bennett with a single, double and three RBI.
Megan Schlechte picked up the pitching win, going all five innings, allowing one hit, three walks and striking out 10.
Windsor/Stew-Stras is now 6-0 on the season.
