EHS Edges Cumberland in Softball Action

TOLEDO -- Effingham High School edged Cumberland 1-0 in softball action Friday.

The Hearts scored the lone run of the game in the first inning. It was then a pitcher's duel the rest of the way as Effingham's Aly Armstrong went all seven innings, allowing one hit, no walks and striking out nine.

Liberty Dunaway was the tough-luck loser going all seven innings allowing four hits, no walks and striking out three.

The Hearts' Skyler Schafer had two singles and drove in the lone run. Jaidi Davis and Lauryn Douthit has the other hits, both singles.
