Effingham Junior High School improved to 14-1 on the season with a 13-3 win over Effingham St. Anthony in softball action Friday.
The two teams were tied at 1-1 after the first inning. The Mustangs then moved ahead with four runs and led 7-3 after three innings. Effingham then had a four-run fourth and tacked on single runs in the fifth and ended the game in the sixth.
Beck had three singles and an RBI while Dunston had two singles and an RBI for the Mustangs. Bushur led the way with a triple and five RBI and Duncan had a double and two RBI.
St. Anthony was led by Fearday with two singles and an RBI.
Beck threw a five-hitter with one walk and seven strikeouts.
