STRASBURG -- Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg Junior High School handed Effingham St. Anthony a 12-8 loss in softball action Tuesday.
The two teams were tied at 2-2 after the first inning. The Bullpups then moved ahead 4-2 in the second. However, WSS came roaring back with nine runs in the third then held off a charging St. Anthony in the final innings.
Bean led WSS with a double, two triples and four RBI. Pfeiffer had three singles and two RBI. Richards added a double and two RBI and Hayes two singles and an RBI.
Guy led St. Anthony with a single, home run and two RBI while Rothrock had a single, triple and two RBI.

At Ramsey
Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City downed Ramsey 9-7 in competition Tuesday.
Ramsey held a 5-3 opening inning lead. CHBC came back with three in the fourth to move ahead 6-5 then tacked on two runs in the sixth and one in the seventh.
CHBC banged out 14 hits led by Tatyana Ducwitz with four singles and three RBI, Kylie Doty with two singles, Lani Morrison with a triple and an RBI, Gracie Heckert with two singles, a double and an RBI and Mady Wojcik with a double and two RBI.

St. Elmo/Brownstown tallied a 4-2 victory over Altamont in action Tuesday.
SEB took a 1-0 first inning lead before Altamont tied in the top of the second. SEB then scored two in the bottom of the frame and tallied one more in the fourth.
Smith had a triple and an RBI for the winners.
Altamont was led by Becker with a double and triple. Altamont drops to 0-4 in the National Trail Conference, 0-14 overall.

South Central had a six-run fourth and went on to blank Flora 12-0 Tuesday.
South Central had 13 hits while Laney Webster threw a two-hitter with two walks and 12 strikeouts. Webster had a single, triple and an RBI while Sierra Arnold had two singles and two RBI. Lily Malone had three singles, a double and three RBI and Halle Smith two singles and two RBI.
South Central remains unbeaten with a 13-0 record.
