Junior High Softball -- August 23

Effingham St. Anthony Junior High School claimed a 14-13 win over Flora in softball competition Wednesday.

The two teams were tied at 1-1 in the first inning. Flora took a 10-8 lead after four innings. The Bullpups moved ahead 11-10 in the fifth. Flora tied in the top of the sixth but St. Anthony came back to lead 14-11 going into the seventh. Flora tallied two more in the top of the seventh but couldn't make up that final run to tie.

Rothrock had a single, home run and two RBI for the Bullpups. Karolewicz had two singles and an RBI while Niebrugge had a single, triple and two RBI. Faber chipped in with a triple and two RBI.
