Girls Minor Softball League Tourney -- July 17

Bahrns Equipment claimed the championship of the Girls Minor Softball League Tournament Monday evening at Evergreen Hollow Park.

In the first game Monday, REMAX downed Dieterich Bank 6-3. REMAX held a 4-3 lead after three then tallied two more in the fourth.

Gabby McCubbin picked up the pitching win on a three-hitter.

REMAX was led in hitting by Audrey Kimery and Vera Pantazis with two singles. Pantazis had an RBI.

Camille Wines had a double and two RBI for Dieterich Bank.

In the second contest, Bahrn's Equipment beat Chesnut Family Music 10-6. The two were tied at 3-3 in the first inning. Chesnut moved ahead 6-4 in the fourth but Bahrns came back with a run in the fifth and five in the sixth for the win.

Anna Green had a single and double for the winners.

Ava Walton led Chesnut with a double.

REMAX and Bahrns Equipment then squared off for the championship with Bahrns coming out a 7-2 winner.

Bahrns stepped out to a 3-0 first inning lead and was never headed.

Emma Newlin had two doubles and drove in three runs while Izzy Brown had a double and an RBI.

Jerzi Bierman led REMAX with a single and double.
