J&R Collision edged Effingham Express Care 9-8 in Girls Junior Softball League action at Evergreen Hollow Park Wednesday.

J&R took a 2-0 first inning lead and the score was tied at 3-3 after two. J&R then tallied four runs in the third and led 8-5 going into the fifth. Effingham Express tied in the top of the frame but J&R won with a run in the bottom of the inning.

Megan Ballman had a double and two RBI while Mackenzie Koester had a double and three RBI for the winners. Kimberly Brummer added two singles and an RBI and was the winning pitcher.

Krista Phillips had a single, double and three RBI while Liz Day, Gracie Hibbits and Kaylee Phillips had a double each for Effingham Express Care. Hibbits had three RBI.

In the second game, Walk's Auto Body tallied three runs in the sixth to pull out a 7-6 win over J&R Collision. J&R held a 5-4 lead going into the sixth.

Cassie Hobson had three singles and an RBI while Hannah Hayes and Daelyn Dunston had a single and double each. Hayes added an RBI for the winners.

J&R was led by Andrea Bierman with a double.
