Women's Softball League -- June 14

Koerner Miller Lite claimed a women's fastpitch softball doubleheader over the Effingham Misfits Wednesday.

In the opener, Miller Lite stepped out to a 3-0 first inning lead and went on to blank the Misfits 9-0. May threw a one-hitter with 12 strikeouts.

Dowling had three singles for the winners while Duda had a single, double and two RBI, Flexter two singles and two RBI and Goeckner two singles and an RBI.

The Misfits' lone hit was a single by Floyd.

In the second contest, Miller Lite again blanked the Misfits 9-0. This time Dowling threw a two-hitter for the pitching win.

Will had three singles and two RBI while Duda had two singles and an RBI and Flexter a double and two RBI.

The Misfits two hits came from Duvall and Wendt with a sngle each.
