Effingham Express Care opened the Junior Girls Softball League action Wednesday evening with a 10-8 win over Walk's Auto Body.

The two teams were tied at 4-4 in the first inning. Express Care took a 9-7 lead in the second and tallied one more run in the fourth.

Liz Day had two doubles, a triple and four RBI for Effingham Express Care. Coryann Schoonover added two singles.

Grace Karolewicz and Natalie Hayes had a double each for Walk's while Hannah Hayes had a home run and three RBI. Kaylee Thompson added two singles and an RBI.

In the second game, J&R Collision edged Effingham Express Care 7-6. Express Care took a 5-2 opening inning lead but J&R Collision came back with a single run in the second, two in the third and two in the fifth.

Kaitlyn Boerngen had a double and an RBI while Mackenzie Koester had a triple and an RBI for the winners. M. Haarman had two singles.

Logann Mayfield led Express Care with a single, double and an RBI.
