Effingham High School's Jenna Wright has signed to play college softball at Illinois College in Jacksonville. The signing ceremony was held Wednesday in EHS Gym.

Wright is the daughter of Holly Stack and Rusty Wright. She said she was warmly welcomed by the team when she visited Illinois College and that helped win her over. She also likes the location of the school; far enough away that she doesn't have to travel home each weekend, but close enough that if there's a problem, her family could respond.

Wright said Coach Meghan Roman told her she had a need for infielders. She can fill the bill; she has started at third base for the Lady Hearts this season. Her bat should help Illinois College, too; Wright has been the cleanup hitter for Effingham this season.

Jenna plans to major in Biology; she wants to be a lab technician.
